Heartworm Prevention

Keeping your pet on heartworm prevention is key to their overall health. Puppies should start heartworm prevention at just a few months old and stay on it throughout their lives, with yearly tests to make sure they’re heartworm-free.

For adult dogs, it’s important to get a negative heartworm test before starting prevention and to have them retested at least once a year.

If a test shows your pet has heartworms, we’ll do more diagnostic tests before beginning treatment. Treating heartworms can be risky, but not treating them is even more dangerous for your pet.

Flea and Tick Control

Flea and tick prevention has significantly advanced over the past two decades, making it easier and more effective to protect your pets from these pesky parasites. The old methods of sprays and dips are now largely a thing of the past, replaced by modern solutions that are more convenient and reliable. Today, pet owners have access to a variety of options, including topical treatments, oral medications, combination products that protect against both heartworms and fleas, and the latest generation of long-lasting collars.

Every pet is unique, and so are their lifestyles and needs. Our experienced team is here to help you find the perfect combination of flea and tick prevention products tailored to your pet’s specific situation. We’ll work with you to consider factors such as your pet’s activity level, environment, and any other health concerns, ensuring they receive the best possible protection. With the right preventive plan in place, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your pet is safe from fleas and ticks all year round.
